Finally, progress.

I’ve been trying to lose weight by going grain-free or paleo…I’ve even been considering giving up animal products.

I haven’t been able to stick to any plan I’ve tried lately…the cravings were just constant and would nag at me.  Also, being very busy and a lack of planning made it difficult to not swing through a drive-thru way too often or order a pizza here and there.  I have been making an effort to be aware of portions and also to not eat too many empty calories.

I’ve been exercising a lot more and have noticed new muscle tone in my arms and legs.  I’ve also lost close to 15 pounds from my highest post-Valley Fever/oral steroids weight.  The clothes I bought in May are already too big.  I bought a pair of shorts a few days ago and realized I needed a size down as they were falling off of me fresh out of the dryer.  Yay!

I’m even finally giving away my “fat” clothes so I can’t wear them and be lulled into complacency when I’m wearing loose “fat” pants.

Nothing like a little success to get me motivated!

I’m thinking that for a while, Katie and I will ditch conventional wheat and I’ll try soaking the grains we do eat.  A la Nourishing Traditions.  I’m working on a monthly meal plan as well as making arrangements to get some freezer meals made so I don’t have to think about dinner every. single. night.
